Baby Photography – Get the Best Baby Photographs
Baby photography takes patience and planning in order to have a successful photo shoot. Taking photographs of children is a difficult task. One might think that babies are easier than older children and in a way they may be, but there are a lot of factors to consider if you want to get the perfect shot.
It is important to plan your photo shoot around the babies schedule in order to increase your chances that the baby will be in a good mood. Babies sleep a lot, they eat a lot, and they get fussy a lot. If you want your baby photographs to be a memorable, and not in a bad way, you should plan your photo shoot after a good nap and feeding at the time of day they are typically in their best mood.
Newborn baby photography can be incredibly fun and produce some beautiful results. Whether the baby is sleeping in its mother’s arms or feeding, these shots will be treasured for a lifetime as that stage disappears all too quickly.
Whether you use professional baby photography or do it yourself is not important, but if you want to get the best baby photographs it is important to have a plan of action. A baby is not going to stay happy for long so you have to use your time wisely. Have their clothing already picked out ahead of time, you do not want to waste time trying to choose the perfect outfit and miss their “happy window”.
Create a backdrop that will look appealing, it is best to stick to a solid color. Props can also be helpful, but be sure you choose something that will compliment the shot and not detract from it. A child’s toy may amuse them but consider whether or not you want to see that toy in the pictures later.
Black and white baby photography is a stunning choice; it can create a very old style quality to a photograph that enhances the picture itself. Plan on doing several different options as you will want multiple styles and options to choose from later. Also consider taking the same shot in both black and white and color, that way you can choose your favorite one later; the same pose can come off completely different simply by changing the hue.
Lastly, make sure you have some pose ideas in mind ahead of time. Even if you choose a professional photographer there is no guarantee that they will have good ideas; be prepared or you may be disappointed. Some good ideas for baby poses is to have someone sitting behind them covered up by a solid color blanket in order to prop up the baby but not be in the shot. It is also a good idea to get down on their level to get the perfect shot.
Get creative, baby photography can be an incredibly fun experience. Most of the time the photo shoot will go very quickly as a baby’s temperament can change on a dime. Be prepared with an outfit, backdrop and poses so you can move through the photographing quickly.
